Effective May 11, 2021 the Province of Ontario has made the decision to pause administering the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.​

Ontario is in Phase 2 of the vaccine roll out.  Ontario is now vaccinating adults aged 60 and over, and groups recognized to have greater risk associated with hot spot communities, congregate living settings as well as highest and high-risk health conditions.

Another phase 2 group that will be eligible soon includes those in the at-risk health condition category and first and second groups of essential frontline workers who cannot work from home.

When booking on the provincial booking system, people must book dose 1 and dose 2 appointments for the booking to be successful. If you only choose an appointment for dose 1 and you exit page, your booking has NOT been completed. With a successful booking you will receive an email confirmation immediately and you will need to bring the confirmation to your appointment.​​

UPDATED as of ​May 4, 2021 Eligibility for Vaccination​​

Beginning Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. the following groups will be eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment through the provincial booking system by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900 or online at Ontario.ca/bookvaccine:
• Individuals turning 50 and over in 2021;
• Individuals with High-Risk Health Conditions (to see list of conditions click here);
• Essential Workers Who Cannot Work from Home who Fall Under First Group (to see list click here);
• First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals, in addition to separate channels for booking at local Indigenous-specific clinics 

Pregnant individuals are now eligible for vaccination
• As of April 23, pregnant individuals are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under the highest-risk health conditions in Ontario’s Phase 2 prioritization guidance.
• Those who are pregnant can book an appointment through the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900. A letter from a health care provider is not required.
• It is recommended, but not required, that pregnant individuals discuss the risks versus benefits of vaccination with a health care provider who is familiar with their pregnancy before getting vaccinated.
• Partners of those who are pregnant are generally not eligible; they are only eligible as essential caregivers if they are required to provide regular and sustained assistance to their pregnant partner with personal care and/or daily living activities.​

Ontario expands vaccine eligibility to licensed childcare workers
• Starting Thursday, April 29, childcare workers in licensed childcare settings will be able to book an appointment via the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.
• Eligible workers will receive a letter from their employer. This letter must be available at the time of booking and taken to their vaccination appointment.
• In the coming weeks, it is expected that eligibility will be expanded to childcare workers in unlicensed childcare settings across the province.
