Fishing Parks and Locations
There are four designated Fishing Parks in the Township of Essa. When fishing in Essa's Fishing Parks all individuals over the age of 18 require both a valid Outdoor Card with fishing tag and a Township of Essa Access Pass.

Good from January 1st – December 31st of current year.
This pass automatically enters you into the Annual Essa Riverbank Salmon Derby, which takes place the 3rd weekend in September.

Which Fisheries Management Zone is Essa Township located in ?

Where do I get an Outdoor card?
Outdoor Cards are issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Click here to visit their website for more information.
I'm a resident of Essa Township and over the age of 65, do I need to purchase an Access Pass?
No, Essa residents over the age of 65 can visit a designated location to receive a complimentary Access Pass. (Does not include entry into Salmon Derby.)
Do I require an Access Pass to fish at the four designated Fishing Park?
Yes, Access Passes are required in accordance with Essa Township By-law 2007-48 Fishing Access Passes. These passes can be requested at anytime when fishing in a designated Fishing Park. To review the By-Law click here 2007-48 Fishing Access Passes By-law. Please note residents under the age of 18 do not require a Fishing Access Pass.
Do I require an Access Pass to fish outside of a designated Fishing Park?
No, an Access Pass is not required to fish outside of the four designated Fishing Parks. Only an Outdoor Card with a valid fishing tag is required.
