Fishing Parks and Locations
There are four designated Fishing Parks in the Township of Essa. When fishing in Essa's Fishing Parks all individuals over the age of 18 require both a valid Outdoor Card with fishing tag and a Township of Essa Access Pass.

Do I require an Access Pass if...
|I am a resident of Essa, between the age of 18-64 years.||Yes, an access pass is required.|
|I am not a resident of Essa, and over the age of 17 years.||Yes, an access pass is required for all non-residents who are 18 years and older.|
|I am between the ages of 0-17 years?.||No, an Access Pass is not required, whether you reside in Essa Township or not.|
|I am a resident of Essa, and have an Accessible Parking Permit.||Yes, however the fee is waived upon proof of the Accessible Parking Pass.|
|I am not a resident of Essa, and have an Accessible Parking Pass.||Yes, an Access Pass is required, and the fee still applies.|
|I am employed by the Military.||Yes, an Access Pass is required, and the fee still applies.|

|Option 1: $10.00 Day Fishing Pass||Good for one day only|
|Option 2: $40.00 Access Pass|
Good from January 1st – December 31st of current year.
This pass automatically enters you into the Annual Essa Riverbank Salmon Derby, which takes place the 3rd weekend in September.

Payment for Access Passes can also be made using "Online Registration"
In order to purchase an Access Pass you will be required to present a valid Outdoor Card with fishing tag.

Which Fisheries Management Zone is Essa Township located in ?
Essa Township is located in Fisheries Management Zone 16. Rainbow Trout can be fished all year round from the Nottawasaga River. For a map of where to fish for Rainbow Trout and Zone 16 regulations click here Fisheries Management Zone 16 Map.
Please note that the Nottawasaga River from the Boyne River downstream (north) to the Pine River Rainbow Trout is catch and release ONLY (S-0 and C-0).

Do I require an Access Pass to fish at the four designated Fishing Park?
Yes, Access Passes are required in accordance with Essa Township By-law 2018-67 Fishing Access Passes. These passes can be requested at anytime when fishing in a designated Fishing Park. Please note residents under the age of 18 do not require a Fishing Access Pass.
Do I require an Access Pass to fish outside of a designated Fishing Park?
When fishing from any municipally owned lands or parkland an Access Pass is required to fish.
