Essa Public Library
Summer positively shimmers at the library. Sign up for our Summer Reading program for ages 6-12 to track your reading and earn brag tags and prizes in July & August. From scheduled programs to anytime activities, there’s something for all ages to enjoy at the library.

Severe Weather: As summer begins, it’s important to stay prepared for changing weather conditions. The following safety reminders can help keep you and your family safe this June.
Lightning & Storm Safety: If thunder roars, go indoors. When storms approach, seek shelter immediately inside a building or vehicle and remain there until at least 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder.
If a power outage occurs: Use flashlights or battery-powered lighting, avoid using candles whenever possible to reduce fire risk
Generator Safety Tips:
- Operate generators outdoors only, a safe distance from any structure, windows, and doors
- Never use generators inside a home, garage, or enclosed space
- Ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide exposure

Dog licensing helps ensure lost pets can be quickly reunited with their owners and helps avoid unnecessary pound fees.
Dog tags are available online, in person, or by mail.
After Hours Canine Control
- After-Hours Canine Control services operate during evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- If you have found a dog running at large, Please Contact: Ontario Animal Control at 705-229-9171
Please note: This service is for canines only. Calls related to cats or wildlife will not be responded to through this service.

Dogs are only permitted off leash in designated off-leash dog parks!
