Employment Opportunity: Roads Labourer
The Township of Essa is a dynamic and growing municipality with a current population of approximately 24,000, located in the County of Simcoe and southwest of the City of Barrie. The Township’s Public Works Department is currently seeking individuals to fill the requirements of contract Labourer positions. Reporting to the Roads Supervisor, the Labourer is responsible for a variety of construction, maintenance and repair services for Township roads. The position is based on a 40-hour work week from April to October. Candidates must be able to operate a variety of light equipment, possibly including: front-end loader, dozer, tractor-backhoe, tandem dump trucks, and other specialized equipment, and carry out labour-intensive tasks.

A focus of this position will be compliance inspections of various stages of construction of all residential and small buildings, works, fixtures and service systems related to buildings regulated by Part 9, Division B of the OBC
