The Township of Essa's Commissioner of Oaths witnesses signatures for documents such as affidavits and statutory declarations.
The Commissioning fee is $15.00. Please bring in your completed document to be commissioned but do not sign it until the Commissioner is able to witness your signature. Any person that is signing the document must be present and provide their government-issued identification that includes a photo and signature (i.e., a drivers licence).

FAQs
No. A Commissioner of Oaths cannot act as a Notary Public. As such, if your document needs to be signed by a Notary Public, you will have to obtain it through a lawyer.
Most Notaries Public in Ontario are lawyers licensed to practice under the rules of the Law Society of Ontario.
