Essa Township Mourns the Passing of Former Councillor Ron Henderson

Utopia – January 22, 2026 - Essa Township is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Former Ward 3 Councillor Ron Henderson January 22, 2026.

Ron served as Ward 3 Councillor for 25 years. Ron was a dedicated Councillor and his unwavering support to his Community, his kindness to Residents and Staff left a lasting impact on Essa Township. Ron will be missed by all his colleagues he served with over his 25 years.

Our deepest condolences go out to his daughter Teresa, son Scott, and their Families during this difficult time.

Mayor Sandie Macdonald who served alongside Ron for 19 years, remembers him as a loyal Friend and Colleague. “I will truly miss Ron as will everyone else who was blessed to know him. I will treasure all the memories we shared over the years. My thoughts and prayers are with his family”.

Former Mayor Terry Dowdall who served 15 years with Ron said "I had the honour and privilege to work and serve Essa Township with Ron. His priorities were his love for Family, Friends, and his community. Ron, you will be missed my friend.
