Base Auxiliary Security Force Exercise to Impact Traffic Flow in Essa Township
October 08, 2025 – Angus, Ont. – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces
Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden’s annual Base Auxiliary Force (BASF) exercise will be conducted on 31 October 2025 at the gates to CFB Borden. The BASF exercise is conducted annually to ensure that members receive the Wing Auxiliary Security Force qualification as well as to achieve the intent of the Commander of Canadian Forces Base Borden to secure the access routes into the base.
School bus routes to the local elementary and high schools, businesses in both Angus and Alliston, as well as Emergency services requiring route use may be affected by closures and/or delays. The South Gate may be impacted; however, the north side Angus gate is most likely to experience security-related delays.
Those passing through Lisle Gate will experience minimal concern. The public is to be advised 100% ID checks will be conducted upon entry to the base. This event is purely for training purposes and at no time will safety or security be in jeopardy.
