Simcoe Street Reconstruction - March 2024

Please be advised that the Township of Essa has retained Ainley Group to complete the design for the reconstruction of Simcoe Street from the east end to the west end. The design work will be undertaken in 2024 with construction anticipated for Spring 2025.

The scope of work includes the following: 

• Urbanization of Simcoe Street with new concrete curb and gutter, new concrete sidewalk, new storm sewers, and full depth road reconstruction with new asphalt pavement.

In order to complete the design, there will be several field investigations including surveying the site, tree inventory by an arborist, geotechnical investigations, and subsurface utility engineering to identify underground infrastructure. Field investigations are expected to be undertaken starting March 2024. A summary of field investigations and their respective company listed are below.
